The much-anticipated return of the UK’s Royal Blood 2023 to Australian stages is finally here. After earlier bookings for two NSW festivals, Changing Tides on the South Coast and Let The Good Times Roll on the Central Coast, the dynamic duo, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, will headline five concerts across the nation. The tour kicks off in Meanjin / Brisbane on Monday, December 11th, and wraps up in Boorloo / Perth on Thursday, December 21st.

Album Release and Inspiration

This tour marks their first visit to the country since 2018, and they’re not coming alone. Joining them on all Australian dates will be The Buoys from Eora / Sydney and Psychedelic Porn Crumpet from Boorloo / Perth. The New Zealand show has Racing, and Elliot & Vincent as support.

Royal Blood’s latest album, ‘Back To The Water Below,’ is a testament to their musical prowess. Speaking about the record, Ben Thatcher said, “This record felt more enjoyable than the previous two, just because we got to let loose a little bit with it. With the first album, we had no idea how it was going to go down, and it’s the same kind of thing this time around. But, we have the confidence behind us now [because] we’ve made three other albums. We’re inspired by putting a step forward into places where we’ve never gone before, and not being scared to do that. Being a riff-rock band, it’s nice to venture out and explore some other avenues. This album really does that.”
