Jay Watson embarks on his latest journey with GUM 2023 in September around Australia. The multi-instrumentalist best known as a member of Tame Impala and Pond, has a disco psych surf rock odyssey sound with his new project and will perform with band. The tour kicks off in Fremantle at the Freo Social on Friday September 8, then Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne over the next weekend starting Thursday the 14th. Gum 2023 also plays at the Wave Rock Weekender September 22-25, 300km out of Boorloo / Perth, WA.
The tour is titled Running for Air, which was originally named Running for the Cure after the Cure started at a festival and Jay was running to see them. However due to covid, the titled was reworked to remove any misunderstanding.
After the shows, Jay Watson travels to the USA for a tour. It is not often Australia gets the pleasure of a Jay Watson tour so get in early as tickets will not last long. Shows are 18+ except for Western Australia and ticket prices for the GUM headline shows are around $30.
