FIDLAR 2023
Surf rock legends FIDLAR have confirmed their long-awaited return to Australia in March 2023.
DIYDUI
Beginning their career as young drunken punks playing house shows, FIDLAR exploded onto Los Angeles’ indie rock scene in the early 2010s with ferocious debut single DIYDUI. Since then, the band has been expanding their presence worldwide, connecting with fans around the globe who resonate with their raucous skate-punk tunes and the band’s mantra of ‘F*ck It Dog, Life’s A Risk”.
SITG Appearances
FIDLAR are no strangers to touring Australia, having made regular appearances at Splendour in the Grass, giving rise to what frontman Zac Carper describes as “some of the craziest experiences [he’s] ever had.” Now, for the first time since 2019, FIDLAR are gearing up for their grand return Down Under next March to give fans the live experience they have been pining for.
FIDLAR is a Los Angeles-based punk rock band known for their high-energy, fast-paced music and irreverent lyrics. Here are a few interesting things about the band:
DIY ethos:
FIDLAR stands for “Fuck It Dog, Life’s A Risk,” which reflects the band’s DIY punk philosophy. They often play at small venues and house parties, and their music is known for its raw and unpolished sound.
Themes of Music
Substance abuse themes: Many of FIDLAR’s songs deal with drug and alcohol abuse, including their breakout hit “Cocaine” and tracks like “Cheap Beer” and “Wake Bake Skate.” Lead singer Zac Carper has been open about his struggles with addiction and has said that his experiences inspire much of the band’s music.
Collaborations
FIDLAR has collaborated with a number of other musicians, including The Flaming Lips, Kate Nash, and Bully. They’ve also covered songs by artists like Nirvana and Weezer.
Critical Acclaim
